SAFETY
PRECAUTION
Because of the sensitivity of the
duties of a nanny i.e caring after children, we
make it our utmost obligation to ensure that all the necessary precautions have
been carried out before a nanny goes on our list. However we advise parents
if they are not sure not to employ the nanny even when their records are
clear. As a safety precaution, we carry out the following checks.
A]
INTERVIEWS:
As Nannies On Time aim to select the best childcare for parent/clients, Before we interview
all our nannies/parent helps and au pairs we send out a form for the charge
to fill in and return, once this form is returned we then call the candidate
to arrange for them to come in for an interview, if based in the UK, this is
to ascertain their suitability before we send them or their information to
clients.[if not based in UK our agencies aboard will carry out the interviews
with the same procedure as our agency]. During interviews we particularly
assess their ability to care for children by asking them how they would react
to problematic real life situations.
B]
REFERENCE CHECKS:
We endeavour
to contact the nannies references just to ensure that the previous employer/
parents were satisfied with the duties and conduct of the nanny. In addition
to checking their character references, we ask for two forms of
identification which must be produced during an interview.
C] CRB
CHECKS:
All nannies
and parent helps registered with Nannies on time must hold a CRB certificate
D] DOCTORS
REFERENCE:
A doctor’s
written reference is also required to ensure that the nannies have the capacity to care for children. All au
pairs are required to provide us with written references from their doctor
back home.
E] WRITTEN
TEST:
As a safety
precaution, we do ask the nanny/parent help/au pair/babysitter before
registering with Nannies On Time to answer question’s regarding caring for
children, and what they would do in an emergency. This written test will
enable us to ascertain if the nanny will be capable of caring for children,
The written test can be sent along with references [if the client requests.]
F] FOLLOW
UP SERVICE:
A follow up
service will be carried out by telephone to ensure that the parent and the
nanny are happy with one another. If the parent would like a further follow
up service, a home visit can be arranged were a recruitment consultant will
visit the nannies place of work, a
report will be made after every visit.
These visits may require an extra charge.
